Young Packers continue winning, move to 4-0!

The 7/8 yr old Packers continued their perfect season pulling out a tight game with the Chiefs, 25-14 to move to 4-0 on the season with a make-up game remaining. The packers started fast again with Garret Tiarks gaining 25 yds. on the first play of he game but the Chiefs recovered and forced a turnover on downs. The Packers defense stopped the Chiefs intial offensive series in 4 downs and the offense took over and Garret Tiarks this time took a handoff to the right and raced 45 yds. for the score, PAT failed, and a 6-0 lead. The defense again was stout and stopped the Chiefs on 4 straight plays, again giving the ball to the offense. Parker Eley ripped off a 15 yd run to the left side but the defense stiffened and the teams traded defensive stands until late in the first half when the Chiefs finally broke free for a 30 yd TD to tie the score, PAT was good for 6-7 lead for the Chiefs. The half ended that way. The second half didn't start well as the Packers defense allowed the Chiefs to drive down the field on them but didn't break and stopped the Chiefs before they could score. Wayne Beard exploded on the PAcks next possession with a 30 yd. scamper and score for a 12-7, PAT failed, lead. Garret Tiarks picked off a pass on the next series after the Chiefs had driven deep into Packer territory to preserve the lead. After the interception big runs by Wayne Beard for 35 yds and one for 15 yds to score a TD, made the score 19-7. PAT failed. The Chiefs answered right away on the next play racing 45 yds to the endzone, PAT good for a score 19-14. Will Greder then sealed the win for the Packers scoring from 45 yds, zig-zagging his way through defenders and a final score of 25-14, PAT failed. The Packers end the season next Monday night, Oct. 29th @6:00 with the make-up game against the Steelers.
